A door leads into a large garage that has an electronically operated external door.
The upper floor comprises two bedrooms both with large, fitted wardrobes and patio doors leading to a shared balcony with stunning views over Souda Bay and the White Mountains. There is also a bathroom with a large bath, shower and bidet.
The house benefits from thermostatically controlled under-floor heating and cooling systems which mean that the temperature remains constant, whatever the weather. Mosquito screens are fitted in the bedrooms, living room and bathrooms.
There is a large covered terrace overlooking the pool area fitted with sunblinds to ensure protection from the sun in summer and cool breezes in winter. A tiled pergola provides an additional shade and dining area to the side of the house.
The fully tiled, 9 x 4 metres swimming pool is set in a terrace in front of the villa’s covered seating area and rockery. It has tiled steps to one side at the shallow end. A fragrant rock garden with lavenders, rosemary, sage and oregano is set around the pool terrace.
The large garden has many interesting rock features and mature olive and almond trees. Steps lead down from the side terrace to a paved barbeque area, shaded by cypress trees and newly planted mulberries. Cypress, jacaranda, eucalyptus and citrus trees are planted to the sides and back of the house with many other flowers and shrubs including oleander, hibiscus, roses and bougainvillea.
A vine-covered pergola provides shade for a car.
The panoramic views are very special from Villa Delfini. The White Mountains are magnificent all year but particularly when snow-covered until early June. There are uninterrupted views from the side and front of the house with the Drapanos Mountain behind.
The mountain views run down to the sea at Kalives and extend beyond Souda Bay to Chania and the Rodopou peninsula in the distance. Sunsets from the terrace are simply breathtaking.
In front of the villa, across a small road, there is a further area of garden, currently planted with cypress and olive trees.
Villa Delfini is about 45 minutes drive from Chania airport and half an hour from the ferry port at Souda.
It is in an ideal location for exploring the picturesque villages of the Apokoronas area whilst being within easy walking distance of a traditional taverna in Kokkino Chorio and a five minute drive to the shops, restaurants at Plaka at Almirida and a little further to the bigger seaside town of Kalives.
