The administrative centre of Apokoronas, Vamos, with its 24hr health centre, mini-markets, post office, banks, chemist, schools, police station, and all other shopping amenities is only 3 minutes' drive from the property.

The main national road is about 10 minutes' drive from Vamos, and roughly 30 more mins. in either direction westwards to Chania or eastwards to Rethimno. After a drive of 55 mins. over the mountains you will reach Hora Sfakion on the South coast. The white, sandy beaches of Almirida, Kalives and the wonderful long beach of Georgioupolis are also within near reach by car. Generally speaking, this area is an ideal base for exploring 'your' island.
