Neo Chorio is a traditional Cretan village only a few minutes drive from the seaside town of Kalives with its white, sandy beaches. Neo Chorio has several tavernas and cafes, plus shops including a pharmacy. There is a school and the village is located on a bus route to Chania or Rethymon.

Kalives, with all its shopping amenities, school, banks, chemists, super markets, post office, coffee shops, tavernas and entertainment, is a village which does not die down in winter but is alive and bustling with some of the tavernas and coffee shops remaining open until after 11:30pm. at night in winter.

The national highway is only about 3.5km from Neo Chorio giving quick access to the port city of Chania with its national airport and general hospital. (Hospital only 15 minutes drive away on the highway).
