There are various fun activities close by like horse-riding, mountain-biking, hiking, water sports, wind-surfing, and pedal-boating in the lagoon running into the sea at Georgioupolis. The only fresh-water lake on the island, Kourna Lake, is only 2km away, and offers pedal boating where one can catch glimpses of the protected karotta-karotta turtle and various other bird species.
