Kournas Beach or Kavros is a seaside settlement and beach in Crete, in the regional unit of Chania and the municipality of Apokoronas. Kournas Beach is located on the northern coast of the island, northeast of Lake Kournas, approximately 44 kilometres east of Chania, 12 kilometres southeast of Vryses and 5 kilometres east of Georgioupolis. Its sandy beach is developed for the most part and is characterized by sand dunes, sand dunes and their own plants.
It was officially mentioned as a separate settlement for the first time in 1981 with the name Kavros being listed in the community of Kournas and in 1997 it was renamed Paralia Kournas.
