Douliana is a small, picturesque village of Chania, built at an altitude of 119 meters in the centre of the peninsula of Apokoronas. The village is about 25 km southeast of Chania and 35 km northwest of Rethymno, with approximately 70 permanent residents.
The village has a traditional cafe and tavernas where you can taste the authentic Cretan raki with meze made from local products.
It is only a short drive from the large town of Vamos with its 24-hour Health Centre, Doctors, Dentist, Butcher, Bakery, Hairdresser and a Pharmacy including a good variety of shops and several tavernas, coffee shops and restaurants. Almirida with its white, sandy beaches is just about 10 minutes’ drive away. Kalyves with all amenities, entertainment, and 2 sandy beaches is also only a few minutes’ drive away.
