This village is also called “Paralia Milatou. Paralia means “beach” in Greek. The distance between the two villages is about two kilometres. The village of Milatos is peaceful and the old houses have been attractively restored in traditional style. It is worthwhile taking a stroll in the lanes of the village. The village on the coast is touristy. Here are various tavernas, cafes, and shops. From Milatos it’s possible to make pleasant trips to popular seaside resorts nearby. A few kilometres away is the rugged and rocky Vrachasi Pass, which is an ideal place for walkers or those who enjoy the beautiful countryside. Although Milatos is a small village, it still has a very rich history. According to ancient Greek history, the city of Miletus in Turkey was founded by residents of Milatos. In 1823 a drama took place in a cave near Milatos where 3600 Greeks were killed by their then enemies. The cave can be visited. Every year, on Easter Sunday, a church mass is held in memory of these victims in the little church next to the cave.
