Ramni is a quiet and picturesque village at the foot of the White Mountains. It is part of the province of Apokoronas and is located 24 km. southeast of Chania (approximately 30 minutes) and is accessible via the provincial road Neo Chorio-Vryson. The village has a cafe-tavern and a mini market, while in the neighbouring village of Samonas (5 km.) there is the traditional tavern Aetofolia. The nearest beach is in Kalyves at a distance of 12 km. (20 minutes). A tourist attraction in the area is the picturesque lake of Kournas at a distance of 22 km. Between Ramni and the village of Kyriakoselia is the Byzantine church of Agios Nikolaos. The church was built in the 11th century, and its interior is decorated with elaborate decorations. It is worth visiting the cave temple of Agios Mamas, patron saint of shepherds.
