Alikampos is a beautiful traditional mountainous village, situated at an altitude of 310 meters in the foothills of the White Mountains. It is 40 km from the city of Chania and about 5km from the neighbouring village of Vrisses, and approximately 9km from the beaches in Georgioupolis. It belongs to the municipality of Apokoronos.
The view of the White Mountains from Alikampos is breathtaking for visitors. The hills around the village are overgrown with pine trees. The village is famous mainly for its wines and about its 250 permanent residents are engaged in farming operations. Just on the outskirts of the village, οn thе rоаd tο Chоrа Sfакiοn, you encounter the Dоurаκis Winеrу. Here you can arrange a tour of the winery to see how the local wine is made and taste various types of local wine.
In the village, you will find a small cafe and some small groceries and shops.
In Alikambos, you will see the church of the Ascension, which is a small Byzantine chapel with great frescoes dating back to the 14th century.
